Spring….it’s one of my favorite times of the year to do a little refresh on my home décor. After a long winter, sometimes changing up the feel of my living room is just what I need to re-energize the space. One of the easiest ways to decorate for spring is by refreshing your living room’s color scheme.
This spring, I am really loving a fresh linen and citrus vibe. I find that it creates the perfect balance between relaxing and energizing. As always, when updating my home décor seasonally, I am just looking to switch around a few pieces and perhaps add a new piece or two to complete the look. All of my foundational furniture elements remain in place with items like throw pillows and blankets, rugs, tabletop décor and possibly artwork changing to create my new look.
For this particular color scheme, which was inspired by Pantone’s spring/summer 2021 trending colors French Blue, Illuminating, and Marigold, a neutral base looks amazing. While the complementary French blue and illuminating yellow provide a great color combination, I like to add in just a bit of variety to keep it from feeling one note. This is where a little pop or two of the marigold (orange) comes into play, and it works beautifully with the blue and yellow.
Lastly, I want to make sure to add in some variety in texture and pattern to create dimension and keep it visually interesting. This is why I love the grounding effect of the linear patterned Marlo rug and the playfulness of the Cassia pillow cover pattern. Natural textures also go a long way in helping to create more flow between the indoors and outdoors, particularly during the warmer months, and the woven Tulum garden stool makes the perfect addition to this slightly coastal feeling color scheme.
